An absolutely perfect cask for the farewell of Master Distiller Jim McEwan. Never before have I experienced that fresh and oxidized fruit notes coexist and complement each other perfectly. In addition, the whisky is not just sweet but offers beautiful, dry woody notes in contrast. I am in heaven.
    • Nose
Sweet and at the same time oak-heavy, the nose presents itself very complex right from the start. Dried apricot, peach and pineapple. At the same time a fresh component with limes, juicy apricots and oranges can be felt. Somehow crazy to perceive fresh and oxidized fruits at the same time in the aroma. In addition to a malty sweetness and sugar candy, a majestic woody note, which with its dryness and warmth reminds of an infusion in a wooden sauna, towers above everything. The wood is so strong that it is conspicuously contained in every breath, but at the same time so elegant that it does not even remotely cover any of the other flavors.
    • Taste
Unusually oily and creamy, the malt dresses the entire mouth. Pleasantly sweet with candy, marzipan potatoes, ripe apricots, malt, caramel and some pepper on the tip of the tongue. Then the dry character of the fino prevails with spicy wood notes and slightly sour dried fruit.
    • Finish
Long and complex sounds "Jim" from. While initially dominate clear notes of wood and bitter espresso, come gradually more creamy and fruity notes to light. Creamy candies with apricot, vanilla and caramel play with all sorts of tropical fruits - especially the pineapple - which flash over again and again.
