  1. Syleo scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

What remains is the memory of a juicy steak, marinated in honey and then expertly seared over the campfire, with the finest barbecue sauce. And all with just a few sips. Certainly a young savage, maybe without the right balance, but for me it fits.
    • Nose
      89 89
The nose wanders over the bottle - wow, what is that - excellent barbecue sauce, but how! The impression solidifies in the glass, while the test dram almost refuses to run down the glass walls. Yes, barbecue, and definitely with honey, the sweetness cannot be denied, marzipan and walnuts resonate. There is cedar wood and also something old, leathery. Salt and seasoning, like smoked South Tyrolean ham, push themselves forward. The smoke in general, like the soot on the wet, charred wood of the extinguished campfire from the previous evening. And something medical, but not bright disinfection, but dark iodine. Fruit wrestle behind it - fermented grapes and dates? - for attention, but can not really prevail against the spice of the barbecue.
    • Taste
      86 86
In the mouth, after a short sweetness, the full swaths of 56.3% press against the palate as if they wanted to be let out. Sharpness is there, but less than expected for this presumably young age. The smoke and the wood come back, and the barbecue spiciness very clearly, but still leave the marzipan / almond sweetness next to it, which ends in licorice.
    • Finish
      88 88
The finish is amazingly smooth, the tip of the tongue still burns a bit, but initially there is no sign of this sharpness on the palate and throat. Soot and bitter sweetness reverberate for a long time, and then comes the smoky revenge, as if you had carelessly inhaled a little smoke from the campfire. This attack flies almost as quickly as it came. Side note: After drinking a new nose, the fruit notes now appear more clearly and spice and smoke appear a little more subtle ...
