    A wonderful smell, on the one hand, I want to smell more and more, on the other finally try. That's the way it has to be. The whisky looks very ripe and noble. A whisky without pace and haste, but with tremendous power; you can feel it without having to fully develop. Like a dozing bull in the sun. The finish looks eternal. Like a picture that does not want to leave your head.
    • Nose
      Smoke, but not too strong, barely alcohol, ripe peach, salty air, the smell reminds me of a Mediterranean port in a brooding summer heat, sweet, a hint of vanilla, very warming, a bit medicated, a touch Wick Vaporup
    • Taste
      Hot he runs over the tongue, the alcohol does not burn, but it has astringent, sweet, spicy oak without bitterness
    • Finish
      Smoke settles on the palate, but not dominant, more like a cloud of smoke on the horizon, oak, but again not bitter, the whole throat glows pleasantly, very long

    an always welcome dram

    a strong and interesting whisky
    but for me it is too inharmonious and uncharacteristic for 23 y Lagavulin
    It gives the impression that good and less good were mixed
    the result can not quite convince

      Immediately the Bourbon barrel with wood and vanilla
      young green pears
      Bronchial balm (ribwort plantain)
      essential oils
      Smoke (little reminiscent of Lagavulin smoke)
      but with a proper medical grade
      Bacon rather less
    • Taste
      Chocolate soft start with malt
      then fiery hot coals on the tongue
      a slight slightly gammelige barrel note
      on the palate, herbs, nice malty sweetness and hot smoke
      a dark chocolate note in the cheeks

      the mouth is interesting, dark, wood and some delicious sweetness, malty
      sweet and dark at the back

      at the second sip
      the mouth has a lot more herbs
      even the medical and etheric comes through strong
      and becomes more dominant
      Overall, the notes are a bit overwhelming

      a load of wood ash and smoke remains in the throat

      after a while something ethereal
      The finish is very long and powerful

    Superb Lagavulin - recommended.
    • Nose
      Typical Islay - peated black tea and citrus at first nosing. A little bit closed, which is no surprise cinsidering the strength. A walk in the forrest during the rain. Moss, humus, bark, leather ... all wet. Excellent.
    • Taste
      Wow this is superb! Surprisingly smooth and oily - the alcohol is very well incorporated. Soft elegant peat, black Darjeeling tea with lemon juice, orange cake mixed with licorice ... delicious.
    • Finish
      Like a  peat fire warming from deep inside with a pleasant gingery aftertaste.

    Perfect nose. I'm virtually on Islay. I could nose this for hours. Palate is simple clean and delicious. Great whisky and great Feis Ile release.
    • Nose
      Peat smoke, coastal notes (seaweeds, seashells), tarry ropes, medicinal notes (camphor, bandaid), citrus (lemons, grapefruits), underwood (mushroom and wet soil), hints of polish. After a while, whiffs of ashes.
    • Taste
      Strong. Big lemony and peppery notes. Spicy lemon juice. Smoke, mentholated notes, a pinch of salt. I didn't want to add water in this one but tried a few drops. Even more lemony and spicy.
    • Finish
      Long, citrusy, smoky, salty.

    A beautiful Lagavulin, as usual. A superb mastery and a real pleasure to taste.
    • Nose
      Beautiful power on a nose clearly Laga! There is lemon, slightly ashy smoke with vegetal and menthol notes. Behind hides some slightly fruity notes.
    • Taste
      Attack well controlled, well integrated alcohol. There are spices and fish smoke. Some dry fruits mingle with the dance. Watts but not too much.
    • Finish
      Nice length on dry peat, dried fruits and light cocoa.

      Open, dry, velvety, smoke of a fire, lemon peel, cedar board, light hints of smoked meat, peat, sweet cotton wool, light notes of carpentry workshop, resin.
    • Taste
      Thick, smoke-sweet, wood-resin, lemon candied fruit, lemon pepper, caramel, butter and cream notes, berry jam, dried apricots, sweet prunes, all this is wrapped in a smoky-smoked cloud.
    • Finish
      Spicy, warming, caramel, smoke-earth notes, lemon candied fruits, berry jam (red currant, mountain ash, cowberry), lemon pepper, grapefruit crust, sweet-oily shades with the transition to confectionery motifs, dried fruits.

    Viewing Eyes: Dark golden smell Nose: The feeling of smoked bacon and sterilized water is stronger, mixed with fermented dough. Abundant fat, fat-like meat, alcohol is not obvious, from time to time, Bourbon barrels of sea salt lemon freshener, slightly acid, BBQ sweet sauce hidden under the peat. The sense of fusion is very good, and the sense of hierarchy is also good. Honey bacon makes me hungry.
    Taste Palate: medium to high acidity, medium sweetness, and can not be ignored. Wheat incense, chalk gray, loofah wipes, cucumber, melon, and a little dry milk. The roasted burnt incense gave me the illusion that the peat was burning at my feet. The smoked bacon and potion appeared in the middle and back sections, and at the same time, a strangely wrapped floral scent.
