[October, 2004]  I had this dram during an "Islay" special tasting at Bonn.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 90. Unfortunately I took no detailed notes except that a fair share of water improves it (score 92,5 with water).

Slightly sweet nose, but you also notice the high percentages. Soft and round in the taste. Pleasant vanilla sweetness, no smoke, no sharpness. In the finish as well as in the taste: pleasant and soft. Very tasty, although I never thought it was an Ardbeg.
