    Aroma:
Aromatic smoke, tar, asbestos and some ink, light fruit notes, sweetish, hint of vanilla and lemon ... takes some time ...

    Taste:
Full, smoky and somewhat spicy, with oak, creamy / oily, sweet and engaging

    Departure:
round, soft, smoky, sweet, oak - but mild, not spicy or astringent, balanced and tasty. Sounds very long and sweet with a hint of smoke and ash.

  4. FuturePerfect scored this whisky 85 points Expert Junior

Not a bad whisky, which may combine the essential flavor attributes of the distillery and the island in general, but for me is no added value for at least as good 12-year-olds.
    • Nose
      87 87
For the old, very fresh smoke ("wet sponge"). Behind a light caramel note, a little leather, a little salt. In the nose a typical whisky of the island.
    • Taste
      85 85
Smoke reminiscent of tobacco and licorice, very light sweetness next to it.
    • Finish
      82 82
      Light and a bit weak.

Great whisky as expected. Unfortunately the bottle only last 2 nights so is very morish. Heavy salt taste. Not overly peated and very nice finish

    • Nose
A fresh breeze ..... a bit salty and pleasant. A slight hint of iodine enveloped by light citrus fruits
    • Taste
The palate does not have the same variety as the nose. First a fruity sweet followed by peppered seasoning.
From the peat smoke is only marginally there.
    • Finish
The finish then brings the peat back with a delicate bitter oak taste.

Successful Caol Ila, which brings the Brennereicharakter to its best advantage. Unfortunately priced too high.
