Wow, what a blast! A fruity sweet sherry bomb. The nose is perfect and I could actually smell it for hours. At some point, however, the head says: "Drink this noble drop!" The taste of the blindsample holds what the nose promises. Extreme and sweet sherry flavors infuse the senses and let me take the next sip. This malt is a dream, I want more of it!
    • Nose
Blind tasting: The blindsample in the glass shimmers a rusty brown and shiny. Intense, dark sherry aromas lift straight out of the glass, the high alcohol content tickles slightly in the nose. Heavy and oily drops recede leisurely back into the glass while intense apricots and oranges mix with each other. The apricots become more intense, peaches and a hint of fully ripe cherries are added. Wow, the fruit is getting more intense and sweeter! Sweet caramel and toffee rises from the fruit, the alcohol is now integrated harmoniously and supports the fruity aromas. Dark berries, then again this intense and beguiling fruity sweetness. Creamy butter, butter biscuits and a hint of almond. What a nose, a dream!
    • Taste
Creamy and syrupy, the malt flows over the tongue, intense and sweet sherry aromas arise. Spicy wood and PX aromas exude a fantastic aroma, slightly nutty hints come to the fore. The second sip is dominated immediately by toasty aromas, spicy wood and slightly fermented berries and grapes. Sweet caramel mixes again with spicy wood notes. Very slowly, discreetly tart wood tones come to light. The walnut aroma comes back and mixes with the creamy and spicy wood tones.
    • Finish
The nutty and spicy oak notes still echo. Slowly, fruity sweetness rises from the wood, caramel spreads creamy in the mouth area. My salivation is massively stimulated, I want to drink the next sip! Chubby and warm, the finish now exudes its aroma and does not really want to end! At the end of the departure espresso powder falls on the tongue and fine leather aromas emerge from nowhere!

Lovely full and fruity dram, the sherrycask influence and Abv just suit right. Very enjoyable.

Light pepper, still full bodied, coffe, chocolate and some red fruits. Also some oranges. Pretty long, warming and intense.

Delicious thing. I would have estimated blind a few years older. Sure, the mighty got sherry. But that does not work at all.
    • Nose
As can be expected with the color, of course a lot of sherry. Blackberry jelly. Jostaberries. Plum jam. Everything is ripe, but not really sweet. Cherry liqueur. After that, wood notes come through. Go in the direction of musty, wet boardwalk. Forest floor. Bay leaf. I also think I hear something machine oil.
    • Taste
In the mouth, the fruits become darker and heavier. Even the fruits described above are not overripe. In addition, figs and rum raisins. Bread with fruits. Then follows a creamy cream candy. Before the oak takes command. This brings now herbier and spicier notes into the game and it tingles.
    • Finish
Walnut. Tobacco and leather. Salt licorice. Cinchona bark.

A very pleasant sherry bomb. No extreme edges and rather well-mannered. No water is needed here, as it only elevates notes of black pepper and juniper. Certainly great value when it came out in 2015. Now, not so much.
    • Nose
Deep and heavy, no effervescent alcohol notes whatsoever. Dried red currant, raspberry jam, and raisin bread lead into aromatic coffee. The oak is there, but only in the background. A few drops of water emphasize black pepper and wood polish.
    • Taste
Moderately sweet arrival. Juicy and slightly tannic. Rosemary and menthol, dates and orange liqueur, as well as Turkish delight and white tee. With water perhaps even a little juniper or allspice.
    • Finish
Medium. Associations of caramel and oak incense

A very good bottling by MoS.
    • Nose
Very deep notes of sherry - plum liqueur, coffee beans, strawberry, orange zest, balsamico, soy sauce, demerara sugar, toffee and a touch of rubber.
    • Taste
Rich, thick, oily. Dark red fruits and toffee/chocolate profile very consistent with the nose. Nicely balanced, ordered and mature for the age. The spices nicely add up to the flavours.
    • Finish
Fruits, chocolate, toffee and some pepper. Quite long, very nice.

Nose: Sherry, yes, but rather tart notes, oranges, kumquats, physalis, some caramel and yet quite stinging alcohol. Everything is superimposed on a dusty cupboard note. I'll give you some water ..... now clear vanilla, creme brulee

Taste: sweetness of honey, now the fruits become distinctly red, black currant, plums, cherries. No wood to taste in the mouth, the alcohol is nice and warm with water.

Finish: Short, first sweet, then comes slowly espresso, but not enough to salivate.

Conclusion: Typical Speysider, very pleasing and mild, tasty and delicious.
