    Nose:
Fat, heavy and sweet-medical smoke rises from the glass. Smoked ham, a little salt, mellow wood on the beach. With some time and air, it reminds me a lot of the Laphroaig PX Cask, except that St. John's Church has more guts. Somewhat mushy berries, a cigarette just expressed.

    Mouth:
Brachial smoke and alcoholic sharpness. After the mouth gets used to it comes pencil rub, ham, sour cherries and some blackberries.
With a little water, cocoa notes come to the fore, the dram gets tart and dirty.

    Finish:
long, smoky, slightly metallic in the mouth, but the smoke, berries and cocoa are dominant, all dirty interwoven.

The total contrast to the Pittyvaich. This whisky is brute, straightforward.
It's not very complex, but the flavors are well interwoven and fun.
