You can not drink, but you do not have to. I had already much worse malts from Germany in the glass (Pomeranian griffin from Rügen), but also better (Glen Els). The smoky note makes the whole thing quite exciting somehow and certainly covers some of the missing notes a bit, but overall unspectacular and not really mature. According to the website, the 0.1 liter bottle costs exactly € 8.50, the 0.5 liter bottle costs exactly € 29.90. That's fine in terms of price, but you can certainly go for it.
    • Nose
A colorful Allerlei. There are a few fruit notes and some metallic youth, but also a very nice smoky note, which reminds me most of all of a young Kilchoman. In addition an aroma of strongly diluted apple juice and some oak. Much more positive in the nose than initially suspected, I must admit. The smoke is not the typical Islay smoke, but gives the malt quite a pleasant nose and covers the Obstler a bit. With increasing residence time in the glass this seems to be stronger again - not so good.
    • Taste
Very mild, slightly watery. It looks like a thin layer of smoke and ash has been applied to a bowl of water - the aroma is superficial, but the malt is weak. Here, too, the youth clearly noticeable, the Obstler holds but surprisingly back. Like licking a metal stick that was smoked before. I already had worse Germans in the glass, but really delicious is not.
    • Finish
Rather short, a bit dry. Wood, some smoke - and he is gone. Short and painless.
