- very intensely, not a starter dram. full our red fruit peat explosion in your mouth, very long finish.
- BLIND TASTING 07/2016:
This drop does not fit in my personal loot scheme. Already the first impression made me think (again) of a wine storage and also the tingling on the palate seems familiar to me, so I type on a Longrow, z. B. from a Pinot Noir barrel. Could also be a PC from a similar barrel, but actually the smoke would have to be different and more dominant.
I give the last remainder of the sample a second chance ... promised!
Addendum: I had to fundamentally revise my judgment later. On the day of the Erstverkostung (75/100) I was probably not in a good mood. I give 91/100 now
The eyes are pleased with a color reminiscent of dark honey.
The Nasometer detects a sweet and sour note with subtle smoke. These are joined by grapes and gooseberries in a light alcoholic ambience. In addition, I notice a cooling effect on the inside of my nose.
On the palate, the whisky is extremely vinous and downright sour and slightly burning. Immature gooseberries in a slightly pricking punch come to my mind.
Medium-long and sour-bitter ...
- Bottle opened for almost 4 years, still wonderfully robust and peaty. This is very close to 90 points, except that it's a bit too sweet, too peppery, and lacking complexity.
