    Colour: dark amber.
Nose: grass, chocolate, sweet fruits, berries, coffee, spices and dried fruits.
Mouth: sweet, chocolate, coffee, sweet fruits, berries, spices and oak dryness.
Finish: long with spices, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and sweet fruits.
Edrington Malt is a very good balanced, smooth and tasty whisky. It’s necessary to drink deliberately with great pleasure and thoughtfully. As for me Edrington Malt is one of the best blended malts which I tasted. I gave 89 points. But it’s a minimum for this whisky. It deserves rating more than 90.

The nose of this whisky is very well balanced. It is in fact, a very drinkable whisky. The notes begin with floral, lemon and apple on the nose. This is then followed by brittle toffee and then you get a suggestion of Sherry.

The palate continues with apple and there is also the persistent toffee that you experience. Walnuts and a delicate perfume fulfil your senses completely.

The finish is long and pleasing. You are instantly made aware of the signature Highland Park characteristics of heather and peat. You will surely want to partake more of this whisky and not just stop at a few sips.

A dense and very good blend.

Sweet, confectionery and berry, with a rapidly receding taste.
    • Finish

To me this whisky is a bit uneasy combination of oaky notes, dark sugar, coffee and citrus.

I have the feeling that the components of this whisky would taste better on their own and do not really compliment each other. In some cases one plus one equals minus one instead of three.

Classic old school whisky for calibrating palates. Kindly suggest to wait for min 20 minutes for opening up the nose.
