I just had the second time in the glass:
Clynelish 23 1991 Wy WID: 61981 (undiluted)
Nose: First, sour lemon, herbs, basil, honey, some menthol, peach, wax. Later also limes and minerals. Menthol is gone. Hints of ash.
Taste: Strong onset, just as hot, then waxy sweetness comes. Rather honey instead of caramel. It stays consistently sharp, but the sweetness can hold good against it.
Second sip: The start is much fruity and waxy. Peach. It takes longer until the sharpness comes. The tongue bizzels similarly as with Szechuanpfeffer. Memories of a China trip awake.
Third sip: somehow watery but not less spicy. The wax is still there.
Finish: wax, caramel, ginger, tongue burns for several seconds, the esophagus is warm for a long time, still some caramel in the mouth, long, but not very long.
Conclusion: I somehow did not remember him so much at the first sip.
