Rich sherry dominates the nose, in true Glendronach style, but with more of the heavy, meaty notes than I'd normally like. A nice touch of butterscotch and Murray mints keeps this interesting though. There is also a hint of something edgy/bitter (possibly metallic) that I don't normally associate with the best single cask bottlings from this source. Remarkably consistent transition to the palate, where again savoury meaty notes and a metallic edge are present alongside the fruity sherry and floral base spirit. Long, fruity finish that lingers beautifully on the back of the tongue. Not one of the best mid-90s Glendronach single casks then, in my humble opinion (some I've tried have been stellar), but certainly pleasant to spend some time with in its own way.
