    - beautiful real amber color
    - super fruity aroma (even if it doesn't taste like a whisky)
    - could also be a very tasty cognac or rum
    - but a very expensive price of 60-70 € for 0.5 L
    • Nose
pleasantly fruity, oak, soft, complex character, old grape, smells clearly more like a cognac or rum, leather, super great smell
    • Taste
mild, very round and soft start, you can taste the wine barrels clearly, old grapes, pear, oak, minimal delicate smoke
    • Finish
      soft short finish
      medium-long fruity aftertaste with grapes

Has, like all Säntis whiskys I've tasted so far, a rubber / plastic (miss) rating. Too bad, because especially the nose was really great.
    • Nose
Very soft and tasty. The first nose is reminiscent of rum. Brown sugar. Overripe bananas. Fruit cake. Caramel syrup. Milk chocolate. Behind them herbs.
    • Taste
Surprisingly powerful start. Spicy with pepper and ginger. Burnt rubber. Herbs. Grapes. Coffee. From the sweetness of the nose is not much to feel.
    • Finish
Long. Beer. Rum raisins. Coffee. Dry with a lot of oak. Burnt rubber in the background.

  4. MrGlenfarclas scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Something different for sure, but very enjoyable. More like (good) rum than whisky, but still absolutely delightful!
    • Nose
Warm fruit cake with cinamon and cloves. Very fruity, very spicy. Lots of herbs. Behind that some quite expressive, dry wine. Licorice and a hint of glue (like most bourbons). Rum soaked raisins as well. Very interesting, untypical nose!
    • Taste
Powerful start. Initially sweet on one side, but then again harsh and a little bitter on the other. Like quince jam. Then fresh, rich oak. Some glue again. And again I´m thinking of rum. In the back the taste of dry wine and quite some herbal flavors.
    • Finish
Long finish, overall sweet. Little dry. Fresh wood and sweet rum lingerin on. Very nice!

(glenfahrn.ch) Color: Luminous amber Nose: Vinous, delicate woody with aromas of rum, exotic fruits, ripe pears, milk chocolate and herbs Palate: Plenty of wine, pepper, caramelised berries, candied zests, fine rum notes, lots of spice, delicate smoke A wood fire with caramel notes Departure: Overall, very long and spicy, while the rum-like sweetness remains long and is supported by light wood notes.
