Well, what else is there to say? This is a really strong malt. The nose an absolute treat, where you can hardly satetriechen. Tasty then a nice dirty Sherrymalt, intense and creamy at the same time.
    • Nose
Violent sherry is the first thing that gets me started. Not the extremely sweet sherry, rather dry. Behind it clearly noticeable roast aromas. The effect is slightly "dirty" in the glass, just my thing. I do not necessarily stand on the sweet sherry bombs, which you will find mass suitable on every corner. This one could come from the nose almost from Campbeltown.
After a little more time in the glass, the nose clears up a bit, the expected aromas are now there, the alcohol perfectly integrated and barely noticeable. Above all, raisins, subtle oak, a little orange and light chocolate notes. The Laddie remains slightly dirty in character, even if it is getting softer and creamier in the glass.
Overall, a wonderful nose for any sherry fan, because you could leave the Malt for hours in the glass. Reminds me remotely of the 27-year-old Laddie from the "Stillman's Dram" series.
    • Taste
Very mouth-filling, creamy and soft at the same time. Again, no alcohol noticeable, yet powerfully aromatic.
Mouthier in the mouth than in the nose. Dry sherry, earthy notes, tannins of the oak and again the roasted aromas, as well as some smoke. It all adds up to a dirty overall look like the one I last had on Glen Scotia's 22nd of Silver Seal and more likely to be in Campbeltown. No typical sherry bomb, but wonderfully intense and strong. Meets pretty much my taste, not in vain I have next to Bruichladdich a special relationship with Springbank.
    • Finish
First some sherry, then a smooth transition into slightly dry oak notes. No bitterness, very pleasant. The malt stays on the palate for a long time, some smoke, which slowly turns into tobacco notes, remains together with the creamy mouth feeling back and is still on the tongue after many minutes. Really nice!
