The nose is almost faultless and it's a shame that the palate doesn't quite match up to it.
    • Nose
A very rich and sumptuous sweet malt, stewed fruit and raisins. Some menthol notes come through with hints of eucalyptus. Vick's vaporub, unripe green bananas and medium sherry.

With water - less menthol and fruitier on dark fruits.
    • Taste
Spice hits immediately along with something metallic. Some oakiness, dry sherry, salt and quite drying.

With water - better balanced, less spice, less oak, less drying.
    • Finish
Medium, fresh plums, mandarin juice, a slight cardboard note creeps in, oak throughout, less drying.

With water - spicy oak is dominant.
