  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

Personally i doubt if this bottle is from the John's Lane Distillery era. The label states it's bottled - not distilled - by John Powers. It could be one of the first John Power products of (new) Midleton Distillery when they concentrated the production of all remaining Irish distilleries in 1975 over there.
    • Nose
Strange nose of yeast, plastic and gasoline. Maltiness. Porridge. Potatoes who have been overcooked. Undistinguished herbal notes (Maggi someone?) Cedar wood at the background. Very unusual.
    • Taste
Much better than the nose. Some classical John's Lane bold and heavy pot still characteristics are present: dried apricots, dates and orange marmelade. Quite waxy but not as mouthfilling as the older expressions of John Power. Some grapefruit bitterness.
    • Finish
Medium long. Cinnamon. A little ginger. At the end nutiness with hints of chocolate.
