  1. Lorion scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

This is a work of art. Everything fits. It is a balanced maturation, the sherry cask influence typical of Couvreur is not to be overlooked, but the whisky is not as heavy as many of the older Couvreur bottlings. I think the whisky is fantastic. 92 points.
    • Nose
That is interesting. On the one hand, I have Couvreur aromas that are typical for me. It smells old, leathery and vinous. Oak soaked in wine, dates, figs and raisins. But there is also something else involved. Red apples, coffee and still hot cinnamon rolls. After a while, cherries will appear. The leather gets a sweet nuance. The sweetish leather becomes more intense. I'm amazed at how balanced the whisky is.
    • Taste
Vinous, leathery and juicy-fruity. Sweet pipe tobacco hints. Grape juice, red apple peel. A wonderfully aromatic oak lies behind it all. The aftertaste is then surprisingly dry and hardly sweet. Some chocolate stays in the mouth. Sweetness and dryness are equal to each other. After another sip I have peach in the aftertaste.
    • Finish
Leather and grape skins stay for a long time.
