  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Excellent Balblair as we are used to with these older expressions. Courtesy sample of my amigo Addy.
    • Nose
As expected lots of juicy fruitiness of bananas, yellow prunes and papaya. Followed by more citrussy notes of gooseberries and kiwi. Overripe apples as well. Later on hints of honey, chamomile tea and lemon grass. Multi-layered and complex.
    • Taste
Quite smooth with a silky mouthfeel. A lovely mix of brioche, orange and dried apricots. Some leafy notes. Subtle grapefruit bitterness intermingled with herbs of carraway. Artisanal ciders. Milk chocolate in the background.
    • Finish
Long, lingering and warm. A little ginger. Aniseed drying out on an oaky edge. Well balanced old Balblair.
