Following a supposed hint, it could be a Benromach. I have no idea what it could be otherwise, so I'll stick with that. Tasted during a blind tasting competition in May/June 2017.
    • Nose
Quite punchy despite the lower ABV. I get "darker" tones at first (dark raisins, plums); later on "lighter" bourbon-cask-tones - yellow raisins, apricot. Is that a faint hint of tobacco or smoke on the background? Mmm, smoked bacon.
    • Taste
It has a peppery start, followed by orange zest with a hint of grapefruit bitterness. Aniseed, cumin, and a faint hint of smoke lingering on the background.
    • Finish
The finish is a bit disappointing: it dissipates quite fast. Cumin and aniseed stay on top.

There is a strange sweetness on the one hand, and on the other hand a dryness with rather grassy notes ... and both are not really compatible. Notes from 30.12.2016 Rating 30.12.2016 => 78/100 Rating 22.01.2018 => 84/100
    • Nose
Dry sherry tones such as light grapes and gooseberry. Arkazienhonig and later some grass and hay.
    • Taste
On the palate, the grassy notes are in the foreground and are flanked by an unnatural sweetness, which seems grafted somehow.
    • Finish
      Long and dry

  6. Calmar scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Like his bourbon brother Molot came out quite good, dense and saturated for his strength and age, but most importantly - there is in him an individuality that distinguishes the production of this distillery, a recognizable kernel, and here, as in the case of bourbon, barrels that do not close themselves basis, and emphasizing its features (well, not as vividly as in the case of bourbon, all the same sherry ..).
    • Nose
Restrained, wet, raw board, raisins, grains, nuts, sweet wool, caramel, a little leather goods.
    • Taste
Enough powerful, raisins, dried fruits, a little red pepper, orange, mango, even some tropical fruits, oak, caramel, herbal notes.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, ginger candied fruits, jam from lemon and orange peels, lollipops, light buttery, slightly tart oak.

      Sweet, some smoke.
    • Finish

Tasted it blind during PO2017 (may 2017)
    • Nose
Sweet, vanilla, fruit, citrus, oranges, a little peat, some leather/tobacco, hay and some peach. I find it rather subtle.
    • Taste
It starts rather soft and mild, sweet, honey, some fruits, milkchocolate, then some pepper and some hay
    • Finish
      Medium length, honey, leather, chocolate
