[November, 2014] I had this dram during a community tasting near Bonn.In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 80. I took no detailed notes. We drank bottle no. L09666.
For the first time, we tried it together with "brothers" during our joint tasting in autumn 2015 in HK. Since then, I've tasted about five times, and I can say I'm happy, even if it's not somebody. She definitely did not disappoint me and she is doing great work for her age.
Orange marmalade, fresh fruit, corn, a little varnish, in deeper tones a sprig of soup spice. This is a recipe that reminds me of such a pilgrimage of some Japanese whisky, which I also felt like a sweetness. In the notes, I think it is fresher than Rosebank 18 yo 1990 IM. (86 b)
Slightly oily on the tongue. A nice sherry style, dairy chocolate, smoothness gives you a hand with spicy, harder fruit, the flavor is then spicy, spicy, slightly peppery. A long reverie, a very decent three-year whisky. (86 b)
He smells very fruity, fresh, a lot of sherry, little oak. It tastes exactly as it smells, very fruity, almost sweet, but with its 46% very strong. Long, very pleasant finish with a wonderful fragrance. Very good!
http://www.weinkenner.de/2014/slyrs-2014-sherry-edition-n2-oloroso-und-px-finish-mit-46-33215/ Color: pale straw Nose: Very fruity nose, with a smoky gum note. Passion fruit, yellow apples, mirabelle plums and limes are dominant at the beginning. Then add flavors of slightly bitter orange peel and bland nut and almond liqueur. Overall, only a little spicy. Taste: Round and slightly salty starting, but quickly bitter-fruity and spicy. More orange peel and more nut flavors, roasted almonds, campfires, smoky oak, bitter coffee and mocha beans. Finish: Medium length - fruity sweet with smoky malt, honey and dry nut and orange flavors. The wood becomes more and more intense, and the finish ends with dry nut notes on the tongue. 84 points (nose: 84 / taste: 84 / finish: 85)
