A 89 Bunna with 24 years for this price (139 euro in May 2019) and this quality can be found either in the forgotten shop around the corner or with good luck while rummaging in the net :)

A delicious Bunna, which is certainly different, and both connoisseurs and beginners can inspire, since he needs no water, and knows how to inspire with its fruity sweetness. He turns out, however, slightly smoky.

A fruity acid, raspberry, dried dates, sour cherry, rum pot, fermented fruits, accompanied by a subtle smokiness, salt, and sea air.

Sweet on the palate as in the nose. The smoke and the sweetness form a harmonious concept. The alcohol content seems almost perfect. Sticky, sweet, salty-maritime, estimated 15-20ppm smoke (not Moine Style, but definitely more like the Hogshead's 89's), more towards raspberry jam, raisins, Christmas stollen, ripe strawberries, with an ever-present acidity ( which I always associate with the mentioned raspberries). Definitely another Bunna, whom I would rather have typed on Islay's south coast, even if the smoke is not as dominant as in the latter. I'm not in the mood for water games, the alcohol percentages fit that way! No burning, so almost easy drinking (even if that may sound derogatory). I see this as a positive feature with a cask strength.

I would be at 90 points if he was a little less cute. This sweetness is already quite dominant and even manages to handle the smoke.

Very sweet sticky finish. Sticks to the cheeks like jam and supplies medium in length. Some gingerbread with raisins on the finish, when the sweet, cooked fruits have sealed their departure. The sour sweet rum pot and the salty maritime character will be remembered.
