    Colour: Pale gold.
Every whisky has a story to tell. One behind this expression of Kilchoman is short and simple, but bonnie nontheless.

After a storm that thrown up logs on the seashore, there is calm. And here we stand, on still-wet sand, feeling gentle touch of sea breeze while drinking a tea with lemon slice. There is a crackling bonfire nearby, from where smell of smoke reaches us...

A wee touch of gentle smoke from the nearby bonfire. Salty wind from the sea. Some wood logs drifting in the foam. Lemon.
    • Taste

Simple. Sweet and salty with an oily structure. Gentle taste, quite smooth for such a youngster.
    • Finish
      84 84
Medium-long, smoky with some oak and white pepper on the palate, nevertheless pleasant finish.

its strength, the creamy peat and a lemon meringue that remains from the beginning to the end of the tasting! Magnifies in the second half of the bottle! For an islay, it's a plus!
    • Nose
      grassy, peat, intense lemon
    • Taste
fat peat, medicinal, on the burnt tire
    • Finish

very strong scents on the nose, spicy, peaty and fruity (on the lemon) and still peaty, then a slight sweetness patissière of melted butter!
then in the mouth, we lose what the nose could discover, only the lemon and stones remain.
    alcohol is discreet.
a good entry for this kilchoman, which looks a bit far from LAGAVULIN (but less fruity and less complex!), And whose final is quite long but monolithic.

n: rum pralines, fruits, sulphur, used matches, earthy, citrus, diesel, cooked fruits, hint of grapefruit, butterscotch
t: light, sweet, peat, white pepper
a: peat, vanilla, smoke, white pepper, hint of wood

smoky, not too strong, not pungent.

  6. LDB scored this whisky 80 points Connoisseur

One of the most boring Islay-Whiskies I have ever had. Totally overrated distillery.

Green grass, relatively raw, with some melon skin

  10. Calmar scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

Slack and faded Kilhoman, sad looks against the background of his fellow barrel fortress; a very modest set of components, everything is simple and unpretentious, a little develops in the aftertaste - sherry derivatives begin to appear, but the situation as a whole does not save.
    • Nose
Clear, sweet-peat, sea, the coals of a long-burnt fire, an empty smokehouse.
    • Taste
Watery, peat, burnt sugar, burnt biscuits, burnt branches.
    • Finish
Spicy, kvasnoe wort, dark beer, kvass, burnt biscuits, coal, prunes.
