Pineapple, ripe banana and citrus. Vanilla.
Lemon peel. Honey and butterscotch.
Malty. Lovely restrained oakiness. Expressive
and lovely nose.
Spicy and sweet. First the sweetnes is icing sugar crisp. Later more honey-like.
Citrus bon-bon. Some toffee and honeyed sweetness. Well
integrated wood spices.
Medium to long. Citrus sweetness. Spicy. Slightly drying with a chocolaty bitterness.I was really pis…. when I bought this dram. I wanted to buy the famous Nadurra
and thought I picked up a cask strength whisky. When home I was somewhat disappointed to
see that it was only 48%. A travel
retail trap. But I must admit that it still is a nice dram. I think it can match some of the
Nadurra batches I have tasted after this.I have rated a sample I have saved for some years. Perhaps this one isn’t cask
strength but it is still 16 years in first fill barrels. Things has
turned to the worse for the present NAS Nadurra range. Ages does matter.
