    A slightly different Auchentoshan. Interesting...
    • Nose
Early musty, brackish, wet cellar or wet stones, old clothes. It takes a while for the malt to develop its character. Then there are well-known sherry flavors such as dark fruit (plums, plums, some cassis), dried fruit (raisins, sultanas), dark chocolate, coffee / espresso, some tobacco and creamy forest honey. I'm typing on an Oloroso sherry keg. From the 3-fold distillation is hardly noticeable. He also has some glue. Overall striking, powerful, voluminous and complex, unusually concise for a Lowland malt, 45 points.
    • Taste
Full bodied, many thin streaks on the glass. Initially, the alcohol picks / stings the palate so if the malt wants to tell me, please keep me busy longer, I'm not so easy to recognize. If you get involved, the malt will open in the second. Velvety-creamy, but dry dry aromas (not necessarily Oloroso) with mainly coffee, forest honey, bitter chocolate, citrusy blood oranges, nuts and spice cake. Fruity, nutty, well balanced and full-bodied, but a bit too dry / too dry. 43 points.
    • Finish
Long, warming, bitter-sweet, unfortunately a bit bitter in the finish.
