    [Blind Tasting Notes]

Tip: super heavy. Speyside, around/under 10 years old or NAS, either refill sherry or ex-bc/sherry mix. Cask or Batch Strength, obviously.

Resolution: Well, at least the age was right. In hindsight, of course, I think that the harsh Zest note could have brought me to GG, but afterwards you are always smarter. Very solid piece, even though I prefer Glen Grant with less sherry.

Huh, where's the sixty percent? And the flavors? It's totally mild, but also totally closed. A bit of apricot and wood, but otherwise? Preliminary 80 points, try it with water right away...
Yes, that makes a difference: Much more fragrant oak, light floral notes, also removes something like juniper... We are now closer to 84 points. No, 85, the wood is really beautiful. A very pleasant malt, but not earth shattering.

Without water, it still starts off mellow, but then becomes really spicy, but without becoming uncomfortably hot. It's okay, actually. However, I don't get much character from the alcohol strength. Bourbon & Sherry blend, maybe, and not over 15 years old? Preliminary 81 points. With water: Somehow I can't quite get it right. I'm no expert on aviation fuel dilution either. Seems pretty young to me, and you have to like a certain harsh basic character. I go to 83.

It's quite tasty, although the aftertaste from the previous sample might play a part. Definitely sherry involved. 84-85.
