  1. Lorion scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Extremely interesting and versatile, but unfortunately not without (subjectively perceived) Fehlnoten. Who has nothing against slightly acidic traces, sees that probably different. For me, however, "only" 85 points, although that's almost unfair because of just one point of criticism. Without it, it would surely be over 90!
PS: Meanwhile (after extensive tasting) I have to upgrade to 89.
    • Nose
At first unusual. Other than expected and otherwise known by Couvreur. Here is an intense herbal note with walnut the first thing I get in the nose. Barely sweet, rather dry with atypical oak for Couvreur. However, it does not take long and the fruitiness comes into play, but not so deep and heavy. I would call peach and fig. Both fruits however dried. The herbs stay. Dill, turmeric, rather fresh than heavy and oppressive. Something plum will come along and slowly it becomes more typical. The plum was what was missing. The unusually fresh herbs, the vanishing sweetness and the wood, however, ensure that the whisky can not hide its otherness towards its Couvreur brothers. Unfortunately, I also hear something acidic, I do not like that ... Although, now it will be something cheesy, which I think is great again and Couvreur never had. Herbaceous-spicy cheese with dried plums and peaches. Not a bad combination. The sour thing is gone, good! I take ginger now true, quite intense. The spicy ginger note makes me think of alcohol for the first time. You can hardly feel it. If something is offensive, it's the herbs and the oak. After the palate is involved, the nose changes significantly. It becomes more pleasing, develops a cinnamon note and the plum becomes more intense, the nose becomes heavier and more sedate. Interesting.
    • Taste
Spicy oak first and pipe tobacco. Then comes some ginger, closely followed by the fruits. Not as dry as expected. Some leather muff and, in the end, more intensive tobacco. The second sip is sweeter on the go, the seasoning needs something. Here, too, a hint of acidic (or is it a bit bitter walnut shell?), Which fights with the tobacco for attention. Finally, a slightly bitter and quite sweetish aftertaste, reminiscent of walnut with honey, forms.
    • Finish
The taste in the mouth stays long, but unfortunately gets a bit sour. He does not do great warming. The aftertaste that I had on the palate after a certain time, solidifies and will last for a very long time.
