  1. Igor scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

Albeit I did discern no peat in it, I have to say this is so warming, that it would easily make proper wintertime dram for you. Nicely crafted cask strength Arran will definitely lift your spirits up and set the warmth inside, when it is cold and dreary outside.
    • Nose
Emitting instantly much of that heat with alcoholic bite, sharp. Crisp, yeasty sweetness of fermented sugars, which has been interlaced with quinine (tonic) fine. White skin fruits are in abundance too, sap, juicy apples, unripe peach, tinned pineapple, sour?/green pears, lemon cake and crunchy custard creams, banana skin and avocado. Odd rubber note shall be revealed as well, if add a couple drops of water. Creamy aromas soon will alter by sour wooden notes, which I am struggling to put anywhere between vegetable and pottery. Gosh, that's weird, isn't it! Also I get a small reminiscence of Pineau des Charantes aperitif (maybe because of the mineral, figuline nuance which I've been noticed there too), muscadine grapes, leaning towards custard.
    • Taste
Very hot. Intensive. Heat of spicery and wild, edgy citruses. Och, this is hot indeed, it craves for water really. Creaminess at the forefront, cashew nut, Brazil nut, few roasted hazelnuts and acorns, then lemon wafers, chestnut?, a tad acrid at the back.
    • Finish
Well, it finishes rather long for sure, leaving you with a deep warm sensation in the mouth, in the throat. Citrussy-sweet and warming altogether, resinous (softwood, conifer), spiced oranges/candied peel, mandarins, vanillic oak wood.
