Nice mix of medicinal notes, campfire smoke and strong sherry. It's a shame that sherry-dominated smoky whiskys aren't more common on the island of Islay.
You can already tell a little bit of youth and the sherry barrel is pressing tremendously, which means that youth and barrel are fighting a little bit against each other. That makes it huge, but a little unbalanced. Also just overripe in places. Still anything but boring.

  5. KayMeertens scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Peat, blueberry, cranberry, brown sugar, raspberry, smoked mackerel and nutmeg.
    • Taste
      88 88
Cranberry, peat, mocha, raspberry and Printen. More herbal with water.
    • Finish
      87 87
Peat, caramel, blueberry, cherry, smoked ham and Bastogne cookie.

  6. EarlMobile scored this whisky 84 points Expert Junior

Delicious Lagavulin, with plenty of sherry and accordingly fruity and oily. Good mixture of smoke / Brennereicharakter and the Sherry keg. Unfortunately not very profound and complex, which is why I can not give a higher rating.

  8. Rom did not rate this whisky Expert Junior

Smoked salmon nose, dried fruits. Greasy mouth, peat, vanilla, greedy until the end of mouth a bit bitter. Powerful. Short final. Too expensive for what it is.

  10. Ikkakumon scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

    Very nice, very greedy.
    • Nose
Light peat, fruits caramel (apples, oranges), some spices.

With water: a little wood spring.
    • Taste
Very greedy, peat, sherry, butterscotch, spices.

With water: Fruits are more dominant.
    • Finish
Relatively short, spices and pepper, a little dried fruit.
