with water: as is almost always the case with older malt, you should be sparing with the water, but don't do without it. Just a few drops make the malt even rounder and more pleasant, the peat combines better with the other aromas of such a blend

Conclusion: Blast from the Past. Always amazing what the 90s malts from Glen Gairioch can do, the peat note simply brings another dimension to this classic Highland malt, plus a pretty good bourbon cask
    • Nose

amazingly intense peat smoke, which comes with a little sweetness, but also with mineral notes and a little pebble beach, even a little tar can be found, behind it the bourbon cask with all its might with a good portion of vanilla and salted caramel, but also some green apples, autumn leaves, pigment, laurel, lemon and a hint of cinnamon, the alcohol is very well integrated
    • Taste
      88 88
first a sweetness with a mixture of honey and sugar, apples, citrus fruits, a few herbs, then the smoke comes through more and more, also here with some salt, and tar, anise also shows itself
    • Finish
      87 87
long and intense, peat, lemons, dried spices, oregano!, pigment, liquorice at the end, hardly any bitterness, clean
