ok at best, and the lack of
maturation is very evident, masked only by peat
    • Nose
      grass, wax, brown sugar, butter,
vanilla extract, hints of floral, grains, minerals, peat
    • Taste
      neutral sweet, light butter, peat,
bitter grass, neutral spicy, white pepper, hints of nuts
    • Finish
      short-medium, minerals, slightly
bitter grass, light butter, peat at the back followed by bitter grass and
      minerals

Aroma: smoke, but not very intense, ash, minerals, salt, sea air, fresh lemon wedges, mint tea, marshmallow; Further clearly chemistry: baked plastic, burned insulation of wires, some engine oil, first-aid kit, rubber. Fresh, typical island flavor of peat whisky, but with a few nuances.

Taste: sweet, smoky-mineral, zephyr burnt on the fire, syrup sweetness, sour lemon, and again chemistry, from which cellulose and tablet bitterness can be determined.

Finish: bitter-sweet, smoky, tablet bitterness, grapefruit, burnt caramel, buttery, medium length.

    Rating: 82

    • Nose
Peat, smoke, gouache, citrus (lemons), smoked meats, ripe red apples, candy. Just a little burning wiring. 21
    • Taste
From light to medium. Sweet. Peppers, smoky-peat motifs, sweet citrus fruits, apples and other fruits, candy. 20
    • Finish
Medium to long, enveloping. A damped fire, smoke, a crumb of gray bread, earth, bitterness. 21
Young, simple whisky. Youth managed to disguise peat and fortress. Balance - 19.
      Total 81.
PS Personally, by the end of my dram, heartburn begins.

    • Nose
Peat with sugary red apples and ripe pears, light warming notes
    • Taste
Smoky peat with peppery spice and pineapple juice, light hints of seaweed and brine with an oak flavor that adds a little more spice
    • Finish
Spicy and sweet with a good portion of peat

  8. Rosebank88 scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Starts sweet, caramelly after Werther's original candy, gradually adding full smoke flavors. Later also gristig, subtle candy-like fruit notes and citrus zests. With water: creamier and downright flattering. Soft peat, burnt grass, citrus and fudge.
    • Taste
First, beautiful smoke flavors, fudge, citrus zests, peat, candied red apples and light pepper spice. With water: very sweet, fudge, nice smoke, oak and pepper.
    • Finish
Full, long, warming. Gentle barrel flavors, dark chocolate and peat.

    Competent but somewhat one dimensional
    • Nose
Vegetal, ashy peat. Mostly. Mild though, with buttery notes and an undercurrent of honey.
    • Taste
Sweet peat arrival. Spice, spun sugar, vegetal peat.
    • Finish
Spices re-emerge on the medium finish. Vegetal peat and honey.
