  1. Globomanni scored this whisky 73 points Expert Senior

slightly spritely, dark fruits, full-bodied, oily

  2. WhiskyLovingPianist scored this whisky 81 points Connoisseur

N: Similar to the young Bruichladdich ‘Laddie’ WB with its wet-rock/granite notes. Some magic plastic joins linseed oil, orange peel, some huskiness from walnut & monkey nut shells, a little hide protector, Airfix glue & oil paint together, a cast-iron vice... Quite a lot here actually.

T: Aah yes, far better than the ten, in terms of its more rounded and more composed. Still a little bumpy, brought about in part from the plethora of casks used. Starts fresh (sour mash), green (spinach leaves) and minerally - moving malty and fruity (raisins), but it's the youthful barley spirit that drives this one on in the main. Seems like there's more sherry influence here than the ‘Two Woods’ 10yo WB.

F: Honeyed, fruity, oaked, barley led finish. Almost a waxy/dry mouthfeel. Sour=savoury lemon at the death reminiscent of a Speyside finish.

C: Not too shabby and quite a leap forward from its younger sibling. Only two years difference, wow! After time though it grates, and interestingly over time both the 10 and 12 begin to converge.

    Scores a C- [81]

N: Light tropical sweets, cut orchard fruits, quince jelly, linseed oil, mineral qualities, something of father’s garage,…Lovely occasional fruity potpourri notes when going back to it.

T: Very distinctive. I know this. Dry fruits into putty and more garage solvents,…. rather collapses after the release. Aah! This is Irish, yes!

F: Dusty, malty, dried sour waxy-ish citrus fruits [orange, satsuma,..] and Caramac.

C: I reckon this is Bushmills, a whiskey my sis has had around for years. Indeed, she notes ‘we have to get rid of this somehow’, which suggests it’s the same old bottle. With an abv boost, I'd be scoring far higher. [Remains] at the same score as before: 81
