  1. Isabell scored this whisky 93 points Expert Junior

Another magnificent Glendronach from the "Billy Walker era". I really like most Grandeur bottlings, and this one is definitely no exception. Overall, a whisky for the colder seasons and ultimately a sherry malt that is unfortunately rarely found these days.
    • Nose

Sweet syrup. Paxarette. Molasses. Heavy and rich, figs and plums galore. Still, it's surprising that there are hardly any strong woody notes. As the first impression fades, more elegant notes emerge: apricots, cranberries, mint, plum jam.
    • Taste

A monstrous sherry malt (definitely Oloroso), but not one-sided. Velvety, with a much broader spectrum of high and low notes compared to other Glendronach single casks. Hazelnut with dark chocolate, orange marmalade, black tea. Again, no mustiness that you might expect from old sherry and not even remotely woody. Figs, plums, raisins.
    • Finish
      92 92
This grandeur lingers in the mouth for a very long time. Ginger, walnuts, spices, sweet cherries. The finish is overall gentle, the alcohol is extremely well integrated.
