N- Husk, savoury sweet with mellowed aged earthiness, stewed fruits, hints of funky rum, caramelized orange, hint of peat breezes thru at the background. Not a powerhouse that caught you with force, but surely live to tease with firm yet oblique strength to buffer on. (90/22)

P- Dried apricot, marmalade with drips of liquorice to perfection. Well dressed with bitter chocolate, fragrant oak spicy with solid and supple torched fruits rind nuances. (90/22)

F- Medium long, ginger warm smokes. Rounded thick phenol that also the carried with the nice scents of torched rind. Crushed mint sweet with touch og grease. (91/22)

    B/B- 90/22

I just adore this one, so good.
    • Nose
Dusty sugared almonds, Creamy, soft and balanced. Its hard to pick the tiny aromas apart but it is very rewarding nose. The maritime notes are hidden well in background, nougat and marzipan topped with Swiss milk chocolate, exotic fruits, after 30 minutes or so dark roasted coffee beans, hint of diesel engine oil, earthy notes. I really like this nose
    • Taste
soft, bittersweet, after while fruity components but in the back is the mocha chino like richness , Nougat, marzipan, these exotic fruits ( like compot ) after while the sugared almonds again... the darker side comes out, this serrano ham, dark coffee beans and some engine oil hints, earth. That carries through the second part of the finish
    • Finish
      Very long and satisfying

  5. Malinois scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Very nice whisky: maritime with Campbeltown fruitiness and an ashy edge (no peat or smoke tasted). Always a pity it isn't at cask strength.. Otherwise 90/90+

  6. Jeep51 scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

A pleasant malt. It does not make tons but it is finally relatively complex and very easy to drink.
    • Nose
Average intensity. Especially fruity: blackcurrant, creamy candy blackcurrant aroma. A deciduous fruit acid but more difficult to identify: pineapple? rhubarb? A little malt and a vinous character affirmed.
    • Taste
More powerful. There are red berries accompanied by raisins and a mixture of spices. It is rather wood that speaks with more and more spices and oak. Mid-palate elegant and that draws on exoticism and honey.
    • Finish
Long, aniseed, slightly dry and woody. A few herbs from Provence.

the distillery bottling date is on the reverse of the front label. From 2015 the bottles had the bottling date stamped as an ink jet code to the reverse near the nipple, and sometimes to the lower front

  9. Akoo scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

In the lineages of springbank 21 years old.
    • Nose
Lemon, cardamom, sugar, more medicinal notes (camphor). Citrus fruits, yellow fruits, white fruits, eucalyptus, mint. Envoutant.
    • Taste
Very lemony, fresh and vegetal with a certain sweetness.
    • Finish
Long, lively, intense on the mineral and citrus fruits

  10. GlenSikkes scored this whisky 91 points Connoisseur

With its warm golden glow, our 21-year-old is inviting, creamy and offers unbelievable complexity. The maritime influences uncovered in this single malt will take you on a journey to its Campbeltown home.

    Tasting Notes by Springbank
    • Nose
A creamy delight. Toffee and cereal notes interspersed with bursts of freshly picked strawberries and ripe watermelon.
    • Taste
Robust and steadfast with a dry, creamy oiliness. Sugared almonds are heavily present as well as a dash of cinnamon.
    • Finish
Creamy with an evolving length which coats the mouth and finally gives up its peaty origins.
