Nose and palate have something. The departure, however, is virtually absent.
    • Nose
Malty sweet, pastry notes, honey, hay, herbs, a dry summer meadow, quite alcohol in the nose, a lot of spice with subliminal a bit smoke, behind a mixture of ripe red and yellow fruits
    • Taste
Creamy sweet, very pleasant on the tongue, but virtually no appetite, really very creamy, honey again, with time, then a little Pfeffrigkeit comes through, that could again be the light smoke, the second sip is then watery but with more oak occupied
    • Finish
Sweet oak and then that's it ... He's gone quickly ...

Can not understand the sometimes bad grades for the Blue Label. Probably has something to do with bad reputation like Macallan and Glendfiddich. In my opinion, the blue label is a very good whiskey. The price is definitely too high, but the whiskey can't help it.

Aroma - citruses are felt, though it’s hard to make out which ones, then peat and the smell of an old honeycomb with a slight sourness come in, you get a thick aroma, you don’t feel alcoholic, nothing special in the aroma, it’s delicious but very simple

Taste - peat, sweetness and pungency of cayenne pepper are immediately felt - but quickly replaced by the light taste of old honey and the orbit of a bubblemint) during the first dram, with each swallow a little numbness of the mouth was felt, as after anesthesia by a dentist. Whiskey is not alcoholic, very strong, you can drink it like compote, in large sips.

The finish is short, peat, wax, and the same bubblemint orbits.

The whiskey is delicious, uncomplicated, age-related spirits are felt, but something is missing, for such a price you are waiting for something stunning and memorable, now I understand why it has such a low rating on the WB, I think the rating of 83 points is very fair for such a drink.

Sherry with smoky peat. Much more like a campfire type of peat. Exceptionally balanced, as it have supposed to be. Minty, campfory, cooling nose. Cold smoke, clean
    • Taste
      80 80
Sweet, light smokiness, campfire, very luscious, mouthwatering
    • Finish

In my opinion the truth lies between Mosesumike's and MGHOW's review.
Pricewise you're far better off with a Greenlabel.
There seems to be a lot of Old Pulteney in the mix....??
Personally I don't like Old Pulteney much.
The question remains: Why so much money?

This is the best Johnnie Walker nose out of the core range and can understand why people enjoy this. Nice and easy going, I do detect older whisky in the mix. Happily take as a gift.

Cooked fruits, musty old smell, floral, light smoke, pleasant and some complexity. Could spend hours just smelling it.
    • Taste
      82 82
Grain, spice, oak, smoke peat and light sweetness.
    • Finish
      81 81
Medium long with the oak and spice fusing in-between each other.
