Whisky Reviews for Johnnie Walker Gold Label

I tasted a sample imported from the Whiskey Festival 2017. I think it's a shame that they certainly diluted the mixture well, so 45% would be much better. I would put this mix somewhere between Cutty Sark 18 yo (which was a bit weaker) and Johnnie Walker XR 21 yo (that was a bit better). I'll add their reviews in the near future.
    • Nose
The smell is light in volume, a little enclosed, so you need to catch more in the glass, mix it with a glass and open it a little. It's a blended whiskey, you know it easily. But if you do a little work and bury your nose deeper into Glencairn, the smell you catch is fine, fine tuning. There is a heavier malt classic, to which are added heavier fruity scents, honeycombs, and camphor and peat. (82 b)
    • Taste
On the tongue it is full, the body is thin at first, but the honey sweetness, the windiness, the tastes dry, the smell of smoke appears, the smell of sherry and the little tanned wood. (82 b)

I think it's better than his replacement (Platinum Label).
Maybe for the impressive Clynelish base?
    • Nose
Ripe fruits, mixed flower honeys, musty basement, mild smoke and a little bit phosphorus sherry
    • Taste
Creamy fruits, flowers, honey, mint and smoke
    • Finish
      Medium length, dry and fresh

This was my favourite blend and among my favourite whiskies in general.

Very sad that that it has been replaced by an inferior blend (also tried platinum label, just not the same)

    http://www.weinkenner.de/2012/johnnie-walker-eine-schottische-whiskylegende-21172/ Color: golden brown
Nose: Soft, fruity, mint, honey, wood, earthy peat and smoke
Taste: Quite flat (like watered down), ripe fruit, honey, delicately smoky
Finish: Dry smoke, again mint, soft finish
Rating: I expected more here. Despite its "coming of age", the Gold Label is still not a really good whiskey, but at about 50 euros quite expensive. 80 points

If this one is on your wish list, better buy it soon. It has been replaced by the (inferior) gold reserve and the (more expensive) platinum 18yo.
