    Stimorol Max

Legend has it that Jack Daniel's himself served whiskey to his friends and visitors from so-called 'monogrammed decanters', glass bottles adorned with his monogram 'JD'. In 1998, the JD Monogram was launched. Although the bottle shape is mainly reminiscent of the last generation of the Gentleman Jack, it is the leather sleeve that makes this bottle stand out. The first release – which is now in the glass – had a smooth silver capsule. In 2004, a Monogram was launched again with a ribbed silver capsule. In 2009, the third and final edition was released with a black ribbed capsule. For the very first edition, bottled more than 25 years ago, you can still count on just under EUR 750 today.

Pleasantly sweet nose on popcorn, caramel, crème brûlée and (especially) maple syrup. Hint of toasted oak with soft herbs. Nothing earth-shattering, but completely flawless.

The body is somewhat light and the taste immediately sweet. Vanilla, honey, maple syrup and some mint gum! Reminds me of Stimorol Max! In addition, some spiciness in the form of nutmeg and cloves. Slightly drying.

The aftertaste is on the short side and quite drying.

Excellent JD without jumping out of line. Beautiful bottle, that may be said. Thanks to Jack's Safe from Roermond (NL) for the sample.
