Superb nose, with lots of precious wood, leather, chocolate, nuts... Mouth is woodier and spicier, as the final is.

A very good old speysider, but there's a bit too much wood for my tastes.

Tasting Notes: Nose: Noble nose, with lots of wood and of course a lot of sherry! Wood polish, fine spice, Demerara sugar and plum jam. He is a little reserved, and so it takes a while to show more fruity flavors, but then grapefruit, bitter orange, ripe apples and a little peach. Generally, the whole thing remains on the harsh side, the sherry dry, delicate vanilla and cinnamon are added.
Mouth: Very elegant, strong, noble, but immediately dry. Lots of wood, dry sherry, strong astringency and strong alcohol, even if he's still on the slender side, and anything but a heavyweight. Fruity no longer appears here, but leather, tobacco and liquorice.
Finish: Very long, but dry, astringent and with a lot of dark chocolate.
Conclusion: This is one of those sherry whiskys that have gotten too much wood for me. Great nose, but in the taste for me too dry and not very fruity. Many thanks to Frank for the sample. https://whiskycuse.wordpress.com/

amber color, nose very marked sherry, with precious wood, wax, dark chocolate, leather, dried fruits, plum, fig, very "noble". Mouth a little dry, woody, almost tannic, very marked sherry too, chocolate, coffee, cooked fruit, dried fruit, leather, wax, spices (cloves, cinnamon), well integrated alcohol, texture that lacks a little thick. Final quite long, but a little too woody, with bitterness now, on chocolate, spices. I do not know how it was at the opening but the wood is a little too present in the state.
