[December 2022] I found this dram in this year's advent calendar...

...and this was an excellent start into the Christmas season.
    • Nose
      91 91
The colour is yellow gold, and the nose offers a complex and delicate old profile with dozens of fine aromas in a harmonius mix. The trademark Springbank oils (both vegetal and machine oils) are present together with fruits, waxes, spices and appropriate woods.
    • Taste
      90 90
The taste is nicely layered on all these different flavours and stays balanced all the time. No flaw or off-note that I can find, all is enjoyable. This is not the most complex taste when it comes to old Springbank but it is very quaffable (if you do not think of the price tag).
    • Finish
      90 90
The initial mouthfeel is warming and coating without distracting moments, despite the 36-yearlong maturation there are no bitter or astringent wooden notes. The finish is long and adds more waxes and oils which I like. No distracting moments until the very end. I did not try water on this small sample.
