  1. MaltMartin scored this whisky 78 points Connoisseur

Legendary Irish whiskey from the long gone B. Daly (old) Tullamore Distillery. Unfortunately this whiskey is completely dominated by wood. A real disappointment. Only for the collectors I'm afraid.
    • Nose
Starts with lots of sandal wood, teak oak and saw dust. Followed with dustiness of old libraries and cigar boxes. Spices of clove, nutmeg and camphor. Also hints of rum and raisin toffee. Whiff of stewed figs and dates at the background.
    • Taste
Very thin on the mouth with resin, pine and a lot of oak again. Followed with touch of roasted chestnuts. May be some toasted almonds later on. Cinnamon as well. Unfortunately the woodiness dominates the palate completely. Mind you this whiskey has been in the casks for 44 year.
    • Finish
Disappointedly short. A little ginger and some mint. That's all.
