Whisky Reviews for Clynelish 1997 TAA
7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.07 points
- A fairly typical representative of oak-grain whisky with a slant in flowers, vanilla and tobacco; in general, it’s rather soft, there are no hard oak and pepper peaks, the minerality is also low, the aroma is quite developed, complex, but the composition of the derivatives is not particularly attractive, the taste / finish, medium in complexity and depth, have an even more sparse palette.
Open, dry, first nose - fresh boards, vanilla; grain, boiled vegetables, cardboard, nuts, fried potatoes, sunflower seeds, floral-honey notes, lemon peel, vanilla, mineral notes appear in development.
Powerful, saturated, oak, rather tart, grain, small pepper wave, nuts, grain, malt, sweet lemonade notes, leather goods
The continuation of the taste, warming, oak, nuts, grain, leather goods, tobacco, vanilla.
Very mineral. Almond, cashew, lemon and honey. Very soapy when adding water.
Honey, hazelnut, orange and pepper. Again, water adds soap.
Orange, hazelnut, peanut and honey.
- a little leather, a little yellow peaches, a sweetness in the mouth with a little white glue and some spices, very fresh and pleasant.
- A good Clynelish well done, round, soft, strong.
Nose on wax and green fruits, some tangerine. Sweet and nice.
Mouth quite sweet on the fruits, a little peppery. Alcohol well integrated.
Finale a bit too short for my taste.
