  1. Hemdl scored this whisky 78 points Connoisseur

A surprising malt, that's for sure. If the first impression had deterred me a bit, the malt could develop after some time and develop a variety of flavors. Overall, a pleasant Speysider for cozy evenings, but nothing special. Since then missing but a few stronger barrel influences and stronger flavors. Maybe the malt would have done a few more years in the barrel.
    • Nose
Immediately after pouring into the glass: Phew, he'll shy away from it. Reminiscent of a fruit brandy and very sprittig, here is the young age but noticeable. First of all, I leave some time in the glass.
After a few minutes, the perception changes noticeably. Now slight sherry flavors emerge, the alcohol has largely volatilized. In addition, there are floral aromas, one thinks to walk through a flower meadow. Sweet malt, caramel and honey. The longer you give the malt the time to unfold in the glass, the deeper the sherry flavors become.
    • Taste
Very mild, the malt spreads in the mouth. The 46 percent by volume of alcohol you notice here in any way. In the mouth then shows the expected as typical Speysider. Young fruits, downright green notes and a pleasant sweetness. In addition, unripe grapes, green apples and the hint of a nut mixture (walnut?).
    • Finish
In the sweet and seriously dry finish the perceived in the nose Hongisüße comes to light for a short time before the malt disappears after a short time from the palate.
