  1. Izzino scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

So this is a really disgusting shot for me. The worst whisky I've ever drunk in the last few days. Alcoholic, alcoholic, non-greasy - unsalted, hot, bitter.

  2. WhiskyLovingPianist did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

‘Excellent if a little imbalanced and volatile’
N: Smells peated, is certainly oily and maritime with an underlying [sherried?] fruit maltiness - very much Islay in style and leaning closest to the south of the island. Roasted & charred veg - endive, shallots and chicory with mild raspberry-salted sweets, nettles, wild garlic and a subtle/sweet, grassy/dried floral quality leading to an thin but floral, grassy apricot & raspberry coulis. The malt is ever present. This is super start, i have every confidence.
T: Lots of punch and power - salty, zingy and oily leading to sweet, sugary, malty fruits [plums & cherries] - always spirit=grain led but never overly dominating. With water the [oily] woody cask notes are teased out with even more oily, malty, fruitiness and a fresher vibe leading into the finish. Theres also the taste of pebbles and roads, i guess its the coal tar notes that lead one down that particular suggestive avenue,
F: Mild, creamy, sour, saline, aniseed developing finish with the [oaky] dry, fruity malt still peaking through. Still oily and peaty to the last with coaltar and  beach pebbles coinciding with the more prominent spirit right at the end.
C: Excellent if a little imbalanced and volatile. Heres an unusual situation of a cask, well used but still full of character.

    Scores a B+
