    SMWS Notes:

"This distillery, which faces the island of Texa, was founded in the 1820s by Donald Johnston who died after falling into a vat of burnt ale. The nose evokes charcoal, brine and salted pork crackling. At full strength the palate is intense – hot, salty and ash, with a burnt syrupy finish. Water shifts the nose to heather and diluted caramel (Bailey’s Irish Cream). The reduced taste is now harbour-like - diesel, fishing boat and engine smoke. This unusual combination of sherry! and smoke carries a danger warning at full strength. The peat freaks will love it!"
