    On the nose, cupcakes with rum. Ripe apples and raisins are also present. With time, caramel and faint lime notes start to develop.

    The palate is relatively forward for a 40% abv. Honey, vanilla, red berries, and milk chocolate are most obvious. Mild spiciness can be detected, most likely from the younger spirit in the vatting. But all in all, the palate is best described as 'inoffensive'.

    The finish is short with oaky and E150 notes.

    To be honest the sherry casks in this didn't really shine through and I find this style very different from what the core range of Glenfiddich offers. I also find the profile off-balanced and as a result, would not re-purchase this anytime soon.

    A solid, young and neat malt; in the liter bottle with a good price-performance ratio!
    • Nose
      soft, fruity, raisins, sherry, very subtle oak, restrained;
    • Taste
      strong strong start, a lot of oak, spice; clearly more intense than the smell suggests, sherry aromas, but looks watered down;
    • Finish
      very short bitter bitter finish; Oak sounds like;

    Nose:

    Cranberries,Caramel

    Taste:
    spicy,Strawberries,Plums,Milk Chocolate,Cranberries

    Finish:
    Short and Smooth

    Overall:
    This is a good Everyday Dram.With it's lack of Oak Influence it shares some similarities with some more upscale Blended Whiskies.
    For some Single Malt Enthusiasts, this might prove to be a bit too clean and sanitized.

    N: This has ‘blend’ written all over it, which in reality isn’t far off - a single distillery blend of all-sorts i’d imagine. We unanimously agreed that it was pretty flat. I also found it sweet, a little eggy [the whites] and doughy with salt n vinegar potato crisps,…
    T: Old, malty and oak steeped with a rather short middle.
    F: Only now the oldness of this whisky come through.
    C: I’m a sucker for these old=>young style single [blended] malts, and despite the flaws I find it really well blended - which tends to gain it quite a few more marks in my book. Our table gave this a solid 86/gold medal. The SBWM however awarded this a low silver.Scores a B-
