One of those old bottlings where the massive OBF has now produced so much oil and dust that I find it difficult to distinguish this from the distillery character. Still a nice dram, of course, even if the nosing and the other reviews made me hope for more. Sample tasting in a blender's glass.
    • Nose
      90 90
Oil and dust above all. Plus banana, fresh cherry, very light oak and vanilla. Despite 40%, a nice volume in the nose.
    • Taste
      86 86
Now very watery. Then oil (lighter than before) and suddenly significantly more pepper than oak. Tingles slightly on the tongue at the end. There is no fruit left. No floral note either. Rather disappointing compared to the nose.
    • Finish
      88 88
Pure oak at the end. Still very light OBF, but the wood dominates too much. The light bitter oak lingers for a long time.
