    Very quaffable Campbeltowner
and a good introduction to peaty whisky in my opinion. With a price tag of only
22 EUR it is quite affordable as well. Thanks, Pat!
    • Nose
      The nose starts fresh
and fruity (think apples and apricots) with a soft note of peat underneath
which translates into leather, floral elements, hay and a bit of silt. The
first whiff even reminds me a bit of Ledaig, but once the jute and cardboard
appear on the nose, I know this is Springbank.
    • Taste
      Quite oily on the
palate and immediately spicy. Mildly salty, again. Loads of sweet malt before
the fruit reveals itself in the shape of orchard fruits and a bit of apricot.
    • Finish
      The finish is rather
short with a smidgen of oak at the death.
