  1. Saftkenner Plus scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

A beautiful bottling, which shows the many years of maturation in all facets. There may certainly be people for whom the oak here is already too strong and decisive, but I like it that way, especially since it brings such a beautiful complex spice here and it differs so much from (modern) youthful, barrel-driven bottlings differs.
    • Nose
      90 90
Oh yeah, something's coming. Makes a really concentrated impression. Extremely spicy and voluminous on the nose, which also offers plenty of space for luscious fruit notes.
Canned Peaches, Caramel, Tobacco, Spicy Oak, Anise, Dried Orange Slices, Vanilla, Forest Honey, Wood Polish, Antique Wood, Historical Books, Liquorice. Tropical notes come into play as it warms up. Mango Gums, Papaya, Lime Juice.
    • Taste
      91 91
Spicy, slightly sparkling, wonderfully syrupy. Very powerful oak aromas are in the foreground, but they don't drift too much into bitterness. In addition tobacco, peaches, leather, pickled cherries, dried oranges, vanilla, bundt cake, milk chocolate, dried apricots, tart herbs.
    • Finish
      89 89
Mid-length finish. Oak, dust, leather, tobacco, dried light fruits.
