  1. Greenkeeper scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

One of the whiskies for me to kneel down and thank the Lord that I've gotten a bottle to savour it. Changed it from 89 to 91.
I normally hesitate with giving drams 90 points or more.
But this time it's okay to just do it. Dave Broom called that one "another killer out of Mr. Walker's stock". He is right.
    • Nose
Needs some time, 5 to 10 minutes will do. Some more time might improve it furthermore. Needs water to open it up, just only a few drops will do, bringing it down to ~48 abv. Then it's strong and ripe. Big body. Endlessly complex and the trick is that the impressions will change every 12.5 seconds. I fail in describing all the details. Clove and a little bit of nutmeg. Some light, etherial smoke. I could nose this one till eternity fades away.
    • Taste
Again a big body, again a very complex, yet uncomplicated roundelay of heavenly impressions. Lots of adstringent oloroso sherry, dry raisins, mild herbal spices, orange and dark bittersweet chocolate. The bitter wood components are so firmly combined with the creamy sweetness, that you notice it as one taste and it's wonderful. There's also a lot of orange in it which leads me over to a rather odd impression: This fruity juiciness together with that creamy darkchoc reminded me of a big chunk of Sachertorte with lots of marmelade in the middle (don't tell me that marmelade isn't inside a Sachertorte, I've tasted exactly that)
    • Finish
Where is the end of the taste and where is the start of the finish ?
I think nobody knows. When does the finish end ? Can't tell exactly, maybe an hour after the last slug.
