Whisky Reviews for Tullamore Dew The Legendary Irish Whiskey

53 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 71.67 points

  1. Slàinte Mhath scored this whisky 76 points Super Administrator

    Irish whiskey tends to be soft and 'green' in its style, and Tullamore Dew is no exception to this. Triple distillation has clearly diminished the roughness of the spirit, making it quite palatable. On the nose, there is not much happening. It's light and rather restrained with pronounced grassy and floral notes, mild fruitiness and a touch of vanilla. The taste is fresh, spicy and malty sweet, turning into a swift and straightforward finish that is characterized by zesty wood tannin bitterness. To conclude, it's a gentle but fairly simple blend without complexity.

  3. SimondeVette scored this whisky 72 points Expert Junior

    Better than I expected. This is more or less a good Irish "standard" blend.
    • Nose
      Citrus, resin, grass
    • Taste
      A bit of honey, mint, flowery
    • Finish
      Weak, sweet, sharp

    - an Irish drink / "booze" whiskey that you just like
    can drink
    - still quite hot, think one of the few whiskeys
    with ice or chilled are better
    - Not too expensive for about 15 € but not really good either
    - cheap but also not much aromatic ...
    • Nose
      Sharp, crisp first impression, behind the alcohol a slight bourbon sweetness emerges ... that was it, very one-dimensional
    • Taste
      malty, slightly sweet but also very sharp start, clear alcohol (grain) still noticeable, does not get better in the mouth, oak, lots of alcohol aromas and light bourbon sweetness
    • Finish
      short neutral finish;
      short to medium-long, slightly burning aftertaste with a sweetish touch on the palate

    vanilla and spice in end

  7. egeht scored this whisky 72 points Newbie

    Floral-fruity aroma with small splashes of vanilla. Sweetish fruity taste without alcohol, medium aftertaste. I like it, but a little expensive for him.

  8. Kilo1 scored this whisky 59 points Expert Junior

    Quite soft whiskey, but the aroma is rustic, due to this it will not be enjoyed.

  9. schengel10 scored this whisky 58 points Connoisseur

    An inexpensive, very simple and rather below average whiskey!
    • Nose
      slightly alcoholic, fruity, "Obstler" (apples, pears), sweet, floral;
    • Taste
      sweet, floral and fruity appearance, subtle bourbon aromas (vanilla), fairly simple, one-dimensional;
    • Finish
      quite short, sweet and fruity, alcoholic aftertaste;
