Wow, cranking into the rarities! I had no idea that Midleton did single casks...
Where do you find these I hear you ask... mostly on collectors shelves; but we're here to crack them open and share them with friends. When you read the notes on this; you're gonna want to crack it open... trust me!
    • Nose
      92 92
The nose is strong with this one! Gooseberry and strangely enough cat pee. Very aromatic. As it opens grapefruit preserve and and green tea, shortbread with loads of butter and dense orchard fresh stone fruits.
With water this become caramel flan and apricot jam, intense still and white pepper crush this into another dimension.
    • Taste
      90 90
The palate is fruit crazy, huge notes of peach pie and fresh baked pastries. Butter and matcha pudding, hints of struck match and coffee bitterness... This is a crazy whiskey.
With water this goes fruit crazy! Tropical fruit salad and deep legs of Chardonnay grape must. Intense still but manageable, moving into serene pipe tobacco.
    • Finish
      91 91
The finish is something else... Bollocks! Farmy and rotten fruits, loads of grainy sweetness and almost fresh sugar cane juice. Bitter notes make your mouth water and there's a crazy note of curry leaves in this...

This is out if the park. I've never been a big fan of Middleton, but I've also only been exposed to the blends which are lovely but not my thing. This is so crazy good!
